The setting
The setting defines the overall style of your ring and how the diamond is held.
Choose from our existing designs or personalise the setting through details such as the metal, proportions, band and finish.
The diamond
Choose the shape, size and characteristics of your diamond.
We work with both lab grown and natural diamonds and can help you understand the differences between carat, colour, clarity and cut so you can decide what matters most to you.
The making
Once your design and diamond have been selected, your ring is made by hand by our jewellers.
Each piece is individually finished and checked before it leaves our workshop.
What to know before choosing your diamond
Carat weight
Carat refers to the weight of a diamond, not simply how large it appears. Two diamonds with the same carat weight can look different in size depending on their shape, proportions and cut, so it is worth considering how the diamond looks as a whole rather than choosing by carat alone.
Lab grown vs natural
We have no position on which you should choose. Only that you should know what you are choosing.
- Origin
- Grown in a matter of weeks, in conditions that replicate the ones underground.
- Formed underground over millions of years, then mined.
- Composition
- Pure crystallised carbon. Same hardness, same way of holding light.
- Pure crystallised carbon. No measurable difference to the eye or under a loupe.
- Certification
- Graded on the same scale, by the same laboratories, and marked as laboratory grown.
- Graded on the same scale, with origin recorded on the report.
- Cost
- Considerably less for the same size and grade, so more can go into the cut or the setting.
- More for the same specification, and the gap widens as the stone gets larger.

What happens during a consultation?
During your consultation, you will meet with one of our jewellery specialists to explore designs, compare diamonds and discuss what you are looking for. We can help you choose from our existing collection, personalise a design, or begin creating something bespoke.
I do not know the ring size. Is that a problem?
Not at all. We can help you determine the correct ring size during your consultation. If the ring is a surprise and you do not know your partner's size, we can also advise you on the best way to proceed.
Can I change one of the designs rather than start from scratch?
Yes. Our existing designs can be used as a starting point. Depending on the design, you can change elements such as the diamond, metal, setting and other details to create a ring that feels more personal to you.
How long does a ring take to make?
As our rings are made by hand, lead times can vary depending on the design and level of personalisation. We will confirm the expected timeframe with you when your ring is ordered.
Some rings are in stock at our stores, and you can always book a consultation to see them.
Can I create a bespoke engagement ring?
Yes. If you have something specific in mind, we can work with you to create a bespoke engagement ring from the beginning. Our team will guide you through the design, diamond and metal options before your ring is made.
Can I personalise one of the rings online?
Yes. Many of our designs can be personalised through the options available online. If you would like to make more significant changes to a design, you can book a consultation to discuss these with us.
Can I view the rings in person?
Yes. You can view our engagement rings at our Birmingham or Mayfair locations. We recommend booking a consultation if you would like dedicated time to explore the designs, compare diamonds and discuss personalisation.
